Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of checksumtech.com (the "Site"), operated by checksumtech ("checksumtech," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By browsing the Site, submitting the contact form, subscribing to our newsletter, or applying for a job through the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Use of the Site

The Site is an informational and marketing website for checksumtech's consulting and technology services. You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, including the admin area, or to any server, system, or network connected to the Site;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation, including through scraping at a disruptive scale, denial-of-service attempts, or introducing malware;
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site; or
• Upload any file (including a résumé/CV) that contains malicious code or infringes another person's rights.

3. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, the checksumtech name and branding, blog articles, and the overall design — is owned by checksumtech or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial reference. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content for any commercial purpose without our prior written permission.

4. Your Submissions

When you submit information through a form on the Site (a contact enquiry, a job application, or a newsletter signup), you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to share it with us. We handle that information as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Careers & Job Applications

Job listings on the Site are provided for informational purposes and may be updated, filled, or removed at any time without notice. Submitting an application through the Site does not guarantee an interview, a response, or an offer of employment. 6. Newsletter & Communications

By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to receive periodic emails from checksumtech about our Insights articles and related updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email or via checksumtech.com/Contact/Unsubscribe.

7. Paid Subscriptions

checksumtech offers certain tools as paid, auto-renewing subscriptions, currently DeliveryRadar (email authentication monitoring) and ComplianceRadar (a NIST SP 800-171 self-assessment and document-generation tool). This section applies whenever you purchase or use one of these subscription products.

Billing & renewal

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, in advance, through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on file automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel. We do not store your full card details ourselves — all payment information is handled directly by Stripe.

Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel a subscription at any time through the billing management link available in your account dashboard, which is handled through Stripe's hosted billing portal. Cancellation stops future billing but takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period — you will retain access through that period's end date, and we do not provide prorated or partial refunds for the remainder of a billing period already paid for. Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.

ComplianceRadar: self-assessment disclaimer

ComplianceRadar's SPRS score estimate, System Security Plan (SSP), and Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) are generated automatically from the answers you enter and are intended solely as a drafting aid to help you organize your own NIST SP 800-171 self-assessment. They are not a certified, audited, or independently verified assessment of your compliance status, and they do not constitute legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. The accuracy of any score or document generated depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and, where applicable, submitting your own SPRS score and supporting documentation to the Department of Defense (via SPRS) or any other body, and for the consequences of doing so. checksumtech is not liable for any penalty, loss, contract action, or other consequence arising from your reliance on ComplianceRadar's output, including any exposure under the False Claims Act or similar laws.

You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you submit to ComplianceRadar, including your company name, UEI, CAGE code, and self-assessment answers.

8. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites (for example, our social media profiles or sources referenced in blog articles). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Visiting a linked site is at your own risk and subject to that site's own terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information on the Site (including blog content) is complete, accurate, or current. Nothing on the Site constitutes professional, legal, or financial advice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, checksumtech and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold checksumtech harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Texas.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
